The Sydney Roosters strive to provide a pathway for Indigenous women to play rugby league at an elite level. They demonstrated this commitment with the formation of the Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy. The Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy feature in the Tarsha Gale Competition.
The Tarsha Gale Cup is one of the main women’s rugby league elite aged group competitions in Australia and is aimed at women under the age of 19.
The KARI Foundation has been a proud sponsor of the Sydney Roosters Indigenous Academy side since their inception. Off the football field, KARI Foundation staff work with the players in a mentoring capacity to ensure they develop their leadership skills and support their wellbeing.
